Vataj is the Vice-Dean for Learning, International Cooperation and Quality Assurance in the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, at the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, where he has worked since 2021.

He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in 1993 at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, in Engineering, and his Master’s Degree in 1995 at the same university. In 2020, he received his Doctorate at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Albania.

He has extensive experience in the management of public companies in Kosovo, where he worked as the Chief Executive Officer at the Prishtina Regional Water Company.

He has worked as a teacher at the Tempulli College in Prishtina, Kosovo as well as at the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj in a previous role.

He has been part of many EU and KfW-funded projects as a consultant and expert, where he focused on capacity building and improving water infrastructure. He was also the institutional coordinator for three phases of an EU and KfW-funded project.

He has published scientific papers in journals and international conferences, and was also a participant in national and international scientific committees.
