UASF is participating in the second edition of the Wood Industry Convention

Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (UASF), Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari, together with a group of students of this University, participated in the solemn opening of the second edition of the Wood Industry Convention on “Export, Innovation and Design Empowerment”.
At the opening of the Convention was also present the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Shyqiri Bytyqi, USAID Director for Kosovo, Mr. James Hope and other representatives of local and international institutions, organizations and businesses.
On this occasion, Rector Bajraktari held a presentation where he talked about the cooperation with the private sector, the importance of the Industrial Board of the University and the development of the curriculum in cooperation with the private sector.
Rector Bajraktari said that the newest and the only university of applied sciences in Kosovo, unlike other public universities, have a close cooperation with the private sector, which is part of the University through the Industrial Board. According to him, the success of the University is shared with this Board. Also, the rector spoke about the programs, staff, quality assurance, etc.
Representatives of businesses participating in the Convention, Mr. Bujar Baliu from the company “ANB Baliu” and Mr. Nexhmedin Sadiku from the company “Daqa” in Ferizaj, expressed satisfaction with the work of UASF students that are being exhibiting in this Convention.
They emphasized that such well-prepared and creative students are a great hope for the future of the wood processing market in Kosovo.
The second edition of the Wood Industry Convention was organized by the Wood Processing Association of Kosovo (USAID) in partnership with SIDA, the EU-funded project – ICEP, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and Investment and Enterprise Support Agency in Kosovo (IESAK).
Among the many activities that will be held during the two days of the Convention, students will also have the opportunity to expose their furniture designs as part of the Student Design Competition, where prizes will be awarded.
UASF students who are presenting their work in the Convention are: Arlind Ramadani, Shkurte Xhemajli, Rinidon Bislimi, Andi Ejupi, Bardhyl Gashi, Agon Demiri, Riyad Shaljani, Miranda Hashani, Blerta Sylejmani, Besa Lika and Fjona Zejnullahu.
