The University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (UASF) has marked the 10th anniversary of its founding. This event symbolizes a decade of dedication in building a modern center of applied education in Kosovo. On this occasion, the University Senate decided to express its gratitude to all contributors who have helped establish and develop this higher education institution.

At the opening of the ceremony, the Rector of UASF, Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari greeted the attendees with a short speech, where, among other things, he said: “This anniversary is more than a celebration, it is a testament to the will, sacrifice and tireless work that brought us here. UASF is today a living reality and a partner of the economy and innovation in Kosovo. We respectfully thank all those who have supported us on this journey, with special emphasis on the KLA and the visionary leaders who believed in this idea.”

He added that the next decade will focus on strengthening the role of UASF as a center of knowledge, innovation and professional development, with priority on internationalization, digital transformation, scientific advancement and improving the quality of student life.

On this special day, the Rector recalled with respect the entire journey that enabled the creation of this institution, a journey that would not have been possible without the freedom brought by the Kosovo Liberation Army. Its contribution was emphasized as the foundation on which education and statehood in Kosovo were built. With great emotion, he also mentioned former President Hashim Thaçi and former Speaker of the Assembly Kadri Veseli, who, as institutional leaders, played a key role in the establishment and support of the University.

The event was also attended by retired professors who contributed to the establishment of UASF and were part of the institution’s early beginnings. Professor Isak Jashari spoke on their behalf, telling the audience about the challenges the university has gone through before its establishment, mentioning the initial difficulties and the great dedication to making this project a reality.

During these ten years, UASF has built a unique profile as a university oriented towards practice and the labor market, through the dual education model and partnerships with businesses, modern study programs harmonized with the real needs of the market, international projects, as well as the advancement of staff and engagement in academic and professional networks.

The university sees this anniversary as a new starting point for the next phase of development, based on the experience gained during these ten years and the growing demands of society and the labor market. With a clear vision and long-term goals, UASF aims to further strengthen its role as a modern, innovative and open institution to international cooperation, always serving students, the economy and the sustainable development of the country.
