Topilla is Vice-Dean for Co-operation with Industry, Practical Work, Technology and Digitisation, in the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, at the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, where he has worked since 2023 as an assistant professor.

He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in the Faculty of Engineering, at the University of Prishtina, in the field of Materials and Metallurgy. He completed his Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University in Niğde, Turkey, in 2022.

In 2017, he started his academic career as a professor in the Metalworking Department at Bau Academy Vocational Secondary School in Prishtina, Kosovo.

In 2022, he became Assistant Professor at University for Business and Technology in Prishtina, Kosovo before joining the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj.

From 2009-2017, he was a member of the Kosovo Security Force. He is also a reviewer at the National Science Centre, Poland.

He has given presentations at various local and international conferences, as well as published papers and monographs in international journals.

Topilla speaks English, German and Turkish as well as his native Albanian.
