Students of UASF, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Engineering Management and Production Management, led by Prof. Dr. Gjelosh Vataj have conducted a study visit to the Drinking Water Treatment Plant “SHKABAJ” in Prishtina.
Students were welcomed by the management of the Factory, Mr. Banush Dragusha and Mr. Bajram Gecaj, where they were informed about the Factory and its history.
“In November 2014, the foundation stone of phase III was laid (Investment from the European Commission through the German bank KFW) – Water Factory “SHKABAJ”. The works in this Factory have developed with great dynamics. The “Shkabaj” project is one of the biggest investments in drinking water supply since the establishment of KRU “Prishtina” sh.a., and that it is a crucial project not only for the capital but for the whole country”, said the management of the Factory .
Also, they explained to the students about the realization of this investment that was planned to be completed at the end of 2016, where the problem of drinking water supply for Pristina, Fushë Kosova, Obiliq, Podujeva and other municipalities under the management of KRU “Prishtina” would be solved ” sh.a., as well as the “SHKABAJ” Water Treatment Plant in Pristina, which was inaugurated on March 17, 2017.
Professor Vataj thanked the management of KRU “PRISTINA” for the hospitality, in particular the CEO of this company, Mr. Fetahu, and also took the opportunity to thank the donors who have enabled the realization of this project: the European Union, the German KFW Bank, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and all stakeholders who made possible the realization of this most important project in the drinking water sector.
