The University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (UASF), represented by eight students from the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Wood Technology, participated in the “2024 Student Design Competition,” which was part of the Wood Industry Convention in Kosovo and was awarded second prize.
This highly significant event brought together regional and international experts in the fields of Architecture, Design, and Modern Wood Technology. Public and private universities from across Kosovo took part in this competition. After the certification ceremony for the participating students, awards were presented for the best designs.
UASF’s student Erzon Dërguti was honored with the second prize for his innovative product, the “Innovative Chair.”
The Rector of UASF, Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari, commended this initiative organized by the Kosovo Wood Processing Association and other partners, emphasizing its importance in enhancing the professional capacities of higher education institutions. He congratulated Erzon Dërguti and his team for their achievement, noting that UASF students have consistently demonstrated outstanding results, winning first, second, and third places in similar competitions over the years.
The Rector also expressed his gratitude to the faculty members: Lect. PhDc. Faton Spahiu, Prof. Asoc. Dr. Rrahim Sejdiu, Lect. PhDc. Kushtrim Cukaj, Lect. PhDc. Lulzim Idrizi, and Lect. PhDc. Bujar Jashari, for their dedication to the professional development of students.
The Wood Industry Convention, an annual event, gathers wood processors and other stakeholders from the sector in Kosovo, creating opportunities for information exchange and collaborations between businesses (B2B) and educational institutions.
