Agron Bajraktari

Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari is the Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, who has been entrusted with this mandate for the second time since 10.06.2020, all this comes after the great successes and achievements that he achieved in the first mandate. Rector Bajraktari was the founding rector of the University, elected on March 7, 2016, by the Governing Council of that period, while he assumed the office of Rector on March 15, 2016. He is the Chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Public Universities of Kosovo and Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Qualifications Authority.

Prior to his election as Rector, Bajraktari was Vice-Rector of the University of Prishtina (2012-2014), a member of the Governing Board of the University of Mitrovica (2013-2016), and a Political Advisor in the field of forestry in the Government of Kosovo (2008-2012).

In 2004 he was elected Coordinator of ECTS and Academic Development. Whereas, in 2006 he was elected Head of the Wood Processing Department. Then, Bajraktari was elected Dean of the Faculty of Applied Technical Sciences in Ferizaj at the University of Prishtina in 2006 and was re-elected for his second term in 2009.

Bajraktari was elected Lecturer at the University of Prishtina in 2003, while in the following years, the University of Prishtina elected Mr. Bajraktari Assistant Professor, in 2011 Associate Professor and most recently, in July 2016, he was elected Full Professor (highest university degree that can be obtained in Kosovo).

He has over 140 presentations at various international conferences (in America, Argentina, Brazil, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and in almost all European countries). He has also published his works in well-known international journals with international reviews and impact factors, as well as a reviewer in 6 international journals and a member of the most important organizations in the world in the field of forestry and wood industry. Also, participated in many scientific committees and various events in the field of wood drying.

Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari has published three books from his field of study (2 monographs and 1 university book).

He completed his bachelor’s and master’s studies at the Department of Wood Industry – Faculty of Forestry Sciences at the Agricultural University of Tirana. In 2004, he received the title of Doctor of Science, while continuing for the second time with master’s studies in the field of economics (MBA) at Staffordshire University in England. In 2018, he completed his second doctorate studies at the University of Lisbon in Portugal and his third doctorate at the University of Nigde in Turkey, in the field of Business Administration. Also in December 2022, he completed post-doctoral studies in the field of green architecture and interior design at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, Austria.
