UASF hosted a Conference for “The Application of Information Technology in Education -Experiences of Kosovo”

Higher officers of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, proffesors and students attended  the conference ”The Application of Information Technology in Education- Experiences of Kosovo”, this conference was organized from EU Project “IT and E-learning in Education”, UASF and the municipality of Ferizaj.

Proceedings of this conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Quality Assurance in UASF Proff. Asocc. Dr. Bujar Pira, welcomed participants, and wished that this organization to draw valid conclusions about the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education.

Mr. Osmani, Advisor to “ICT and E-learning in Education” EU Project, presented the main achievements of the project and spoke about the role of the application of information technology and innovation in education.

Mr. Osmani said that the overall objective of the project is to support the Government in information technology, in order to improve the quality of education.

Speaking about the project, Mr. Osmani emphasized that it is designed in five different components: Providing ICT training; The Development of Electronic Content for Education, required by the new curriculum in Kosovo; Online Learning Management System; The readiness assessment and the need for ICT equipment and preparation for the supply contract; Technical assistance provided to monitor and assess the installation and testing of ICT equipment.

Whereas, as regards the application of Information Technology in Kosovo, Mr. Osmani emphasized that our country is still in its infancy.

In this Conference were also discussed experiences and vision for the modernization of teaching and learning through ICT.
