Rector Bajraktari hosted representatives of the KLA OVL in a meeting

The Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (UASF), Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari and Fisnik Bislimi, son of the national hero Rexhep Bislimi, received in a meeting the representatives of the Organization of War Veterans of the KLA, branch in Ferizaj, Mr. Afrim Mehmeti-president of the OVL and Mr. Luan Jahiri-vice-president.

During this meeting, the representatives of the OVL of the KLA were informed of the university’s decisions to name the halls with names that embody the highest values ​​of the liberation war, such as “Legendary Commander” and “Liberators”, reflecting the institutional commitment to preserving and promoting historical memory.

At the meeting, the lists of signatures of the national petition “Freedom for the Liberators” were also submitted, which were signed by the Rector, academic staff and students of the University. This petition, of particular national importance, aims to support the Kosovo Liberation Army and its former leaders who are facing the process in The Hague, by defending the values ​​of the liberation war and its dignity.

Rector Bajraktari emphasized the importance of preserving historical values ​​and the role of higher education institutions in cultivating civic responsibility and respect for history. He said that the University’s engagement in such initiatives reflects its commitment to contributing to issues of national importance. At the same time, he reiterated how it has always supported the former leaders of the KLA and commended the initiative of the KLA OVL to organize the petition “Freedom for the Liberators”, evaluating it as an action of particular national importance.

On the other hand, the representatives of the KLA OVL expressed gratitude for the reception and highly appreciated the contribution of Rector Bajraktari, the academic staff and students of the UASF in this process, emphasizing the importance of institutional and civic support for such causes.

The meeting was appreciated as a testament to cooperation and institutional unity in defense of the values ​​of the liberation war and our history.
