At the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj (UASF), a Scientific Roundtable was held on the topic “”Impact and Advantages of the Circular Economy on Businesses”, where professors from the fields of economics, architecture, engineering and wood Technology participated from local and international Universities.

The Rector of UASF, Prof. Dr. Agron Bajraktari, stressing the importance of this Round Table, thanked those present for their participation and institutional and professional support in building capacities within the University in terms of organizing scientific tables, as well as for the activation and ideas given in the issues that challenge us as a society.

The Dean of the Faculty of Management, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Sokol Krasniqi also thanked the participants for their contribution to this Round Table, which according to him contains an important topic for sustainable development.

 

After numerous discussions, the attendees came up with conclusions about policymakers and businesses.

 

According to them, Governments should provide economic incentives aimed at developing and strengthening sustainable infrastructure, for a completely green future, obligations that emerged from the Paris Convention of 2015 of the United Nations. They should also provide tax incentives for the use of low-carbon building materials, as well as buildings and equipment with high energy efficiency and efficiency. Also, provide economic instruments to encourage the use of raw materials, recycling and reuse of materials, even training local workforce and job creation. The Circular Economy should also offer a host of benefits to businesses, including environmental protection, lower costs, higher profits, new products and markets, innovations in recycled materials and financial sustainability itself. According to them, by moving towards a circular model, businesses reduce greenhouse gases, promote innovation and create added value for business, the environment and society. Despite the challenges, the long-term benefits of embracing the circular economy are significant, for businesses seeking success and sustainability in a world with limited resources.

 

Teachers from the University of Durrës, Prof. Dr. Rovena Canaj and Prof. Dr. Brixhilda Imeri, from the University of Prishtina Prof. Ass. Dr. Genc Zhushi and Prof. Ass. Dr. Ujkan Bajra, from Habitat Community Urim Xheravina and Jeta Berisha, from the Government Muhamet Hashani, the representative from the business community Bujar Kastrati, representatives from the civil organization, as well as professors from UASF.

 

The table was organized by UASF, in cooperation with the University of Pristina – Faculty of Economics, the University of Mitrovica – Faculty of Economics and Economic Engineering, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës – Faculty of Business, representatives from the central and local Government, as well as experts of the business field.
