Rrustemi is Vice-Dean for Learning, International Cooperation and Quality Assurance in the Faculty of Tourism and Environment at the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj, where he has also been a lecturer since 2022. He previously held the positions of Academic Affairs Officer and Career Development Officer from 2019-2022. He currently holds the position of Advisor to the Rector since 2020.

He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in the Department of Horticulture and Viticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, at the University of Prishtina in 2012. He completed his Master’s Degree in 2015 at the same institution. He is currently in the process of completing his Doctorate at the University St. Kliment Ohridski in Bitola, North Macedonia at the Technical Faculty in Veles. He is conducting research in the fields of food technology, gastronomy, agriculture and hospitality.

He has connected his academic engagement with scientific works and conferences in the fields of agriculture, agritourism and hospitality. He has been involved in scientific projects and contributed to several publications and scientific articles.

He speaks English and German as well as his native Albanian.
